Hey i'm having problems with far cry. :(

I'm gaming at 1680 x 1050 and every thing on high. Looks great except the game seems to have flashing problems. The texture seems to flash randomly for some reason (like a bright light will falsh instead of grass ect). I think it may have only started since i've used vista 64. Has anybody else experianced a simular thing?. Is there a vista patch for the game? (I am using a 64bit patch):)

Thanks

Edit:

Just to give more of an idea what I'm talking about.

Normal and bad

As you can see the landscape is being replaced with other textures. It happens so quick it just looks like a flash :(

I think I used to get this in FarCry when Lighting was set to HIGH or ULTRA? Does it occur when the Lighting/Shadows are set to Medium?

Ta! :)

Ok I turned AA of and lowered the Lighting/Shadows to Medium. But the problem still continues. :(

err, this happened to me when playing Far Cry (when it came out!).
i put it down to the failing Radeon 9800 and ignored it. i think it still does it, so i guess its a problem with the rendering engine.

ignore it and enjoy the game!

Hrmmm. that IS odd. i've only ever seen that one other time, on a friends computer. but he has a 7600GT...

i assume you've tried reinstalling?

I am not overclocking anything, and yes I have tried reintalling a few times.

knowledge123: Unfortunatly It did now work. Don't think it ever will tbh.

Sorry to hear that, I had a major problem even installing the 1.4 cumulative patch, in the end I had to extract it (using the /a switch) and then copy and paste on top of the existing files. :(

There are two files for 64 bit version; the content update and then an additional patch, have you installed both ?
See here for both files.

Only times I have seen that effect is due to HDR and AA or due to the patches not being applied correctly.

Have you tried a clean install, patched to 1.33 or 1.4 in 32bit mode?
The 64 bit version isnt officially supported under Vista
