Guys,
anybody out there have any problems running Far Cry..
Recently put together a Conroe system and going through some games and found that this title will not load. All it gives is a quick view of the splash screen and then back to desktop.
Never had an issue with my other system (an FX53 with 7800GTX). The game is fully patched up and running under X64 (not running the 64bit version of the game though). I never had a problem with the game before under X86 or X64 on the other system so I don't think its anything relating to the OS.
Has anybody had this issue when running with an X1900 or 4gb or whatever..

Cheers..

Got latest DirectX & Chipset patches etc?

Could be because it's dual core, not experienced in it myself, but perhaps making it only run on a single core or something might help.

Oh, and your sig is too big, only allowed 4 lines, not 5: FAQ.

Obviously your PC can play Far Cry :)

But this only has happened to me when I was trying to play Battlefield 2 on an onboard graphics card system.

It went to the splash screen, then we back to desktop.
Got a new graphics card and all is well

Fair enough point on the sig..
No everything is installed correctly.....looks like its an issue thats been hanging around since last year. Seen various forums with people complaining of similar issues, with no real hardware/software commonality between them, only thing that might be worth a try is to go back to a previous Cat release (on 6.8 at the moment), but apart from this issue, the system is flying along so I'm wary of messing about more.
Thought there might be some quick solution out there that people are aware of :(
