Farcry 3 multiplayer?

Havent played it myself, but from what i gather it's a pretty demanding game. Bit like the original crysis.

I think my card is broken tbh, its pixelising everytime i move, i thought this was normal but no one else is getting this, just been on my old PC with a 660 no such thing happens and it can run it at better settings then my 7970!

Think i need RMA the card, the weird thing above med settings is the game will go 60 then 30 and lock at 30 and then 60 it has to be the card as ive asked in every game and no one is having such problems, max GPU usage was 97% so its not even bottlenecked.

Really annoying me!!

What drivers?

You don't need to RMA your card because it's not working properly in one game. If the same things are happening in ALL games/benchmarks then it's a faulty card. If it isn't then there's some other issue. Far Cry 3 is generally quite buggy at the moment and only performs well on BETA drivers. BETA drivers can have issues in them and you're more likely to see them in BETA drivers as opposed to WHQL. My rock solid stable 7950 gets occasional mild visual distortions (flickering).

My standard voltage for my 24/7 overclock wasn't enough for FC3. I had to apply a notch or two more.

You overclocked?

I had slight artifacting in Borderlands 2 last night also, but i couldnt make it happen again it was just happening in random places.

The card is also hitting 63C and the fan speed will only go to 27% its stupid how the fans wont cool the card :\

But this is LOWEST settings and im still getting this artifacting so it has to be something wrong with the card, this game is the first time its used 100% GPU, i put all ultra and it used 100% so i maybe not notice on games that dont use 100% GPU but when it does it artifacts.

Its all at default clocks so should work fine.

I know the drivers are BETA but other people with the same card are getting no such artifacting. This is the 4th AMD card ive had thats went dodgy! Im starting to lose hope! Ive also tried 3 brands so......

I maybe grab a 680 or 670 to save myself the hassle.

Heres a link to a vid i made of it, a bit wobbly, i had to record with fraps then record fraps with my phone.

You can see where i aim the pixels are easiest to spot, this happens full screen when moving about, it looks like its trying to loads textures or something but pixelises, this happens on all settings low-ultra.

PS. up it to 720P bit better :D

Looks like a game problem. A graphics card fault is rarely that neat in being able to reproduce it in a specific point like that and in the same manner. Is this a new PC or an old build with a new card? You could re-install Windows if it's an old build.

Failing that wait for more stable FC3 drivers. Both vendors are having issues with this game at the mo.

Its a full new PC, what card you got Night?

Do you get these problems Rusty? You have an AMD card.

Everyone ive asked so far said it plays fine, and it plays fine on my 660 setup.

The artifacting in borderlands was giant spikes that stretch across the screen but i havent been able to reproduce them at will its just random, probly at intense moments.

They are sending me a new card now anyways so if it happens on this one then it should be the game.

See so it cant be drivers and it cant be the game if you dont get them.

There seems no input lag for me though, i keep coming top all the time its so easy to aim on this game, AK47 so accurate at long range and the basic crosshair is perfect.

Im also getting a stuttering effect now, like its missing a frame or something.

Really annoying me, ive found a map the pixelisation turns a door white so its really easy to see.

There's a million things that can cause a problem. Just because I'm not getting it doesn't mean anything on its own. You can't over simplify it like that.

You're used to 60 Hz probably. I'm used to 120 Hz. The refresh rates makes such a large difference in FPS games if you've got the eyes to tell the difference :). The game certainly doesn't feel like it's refreshing at 120 Hz. It just feels so... heavy when you move around. It's one of those things you don't notice until you get a good 120 Hz panel.

Although generally multi-GPU there's some tricks to try and eliminate it for single GPU users as well. DX9 and no MSAA I believe was on solution. The game is a bit broken at the mo. It works but it's far from optimal.

Known Game issue mate posted a lot over on Farcry forum. I also get the same thing.

is it possible it could be overclocking software causing your problem night? Afterburner has caused a few weird issues for me on far cry 3.

Its really a known issue?

Can you link me the thread?

Ive noticed it happens around textures that are loading, ive also fixed the stuttering by enableing frame buffering.

Now i need find out why borderlands artifacts then?

See: first port of call isn't always "my hardware is broke, death to graphics card manufacturer!" :p

It's always more than likely PEBKAC or a game problem even if it doesn't manifest itself for everyone.

I cant see it anywhere on their forums.

But why is my game running so slow then? I cant play it past medium settings or it lags? Surely the 7970 can handle this? Ive read people with 6950s playing it on high/very high ?

True but if 9/10 dont get the problem i think its best to say its something to do with the 1/10 lol

It goes 60 then locks at 30 wont go below 30 but it laggs like crazy like totally not playable.

Its not like its pumping frames properly, how can it jump from 60 to 30 then back to 60 and not going down to 50,40,30 ect.

Very strange.
