FarCry 4 GTX 970

Not brilliant, TBH. I'd pin it off on the game though. Without the patches the game was a stuttery mess. Now it's a lot better but it still dips sometimes. And don't even get me started on the driving - it's just awful, doesn't feel fluid at all (framerate is all over the place).

I feel a bit funny having forked out quite a bit of dosh on a card that can't maintain constant 60fps in a game which, save for a couple of nice vistas, looks really mediocre. Seriously, there's nothing in this game that should make a GTX 970 sweat but, being an Ubisoft title, it just runs like arse.

I'm getting 60fps at 1600p with a GTX 970 SLI setup, with Ultra settings and anti-aliasing. That's with the latest drivers for FC4. Therefore it should be okay at 1080p with a single card. Certainly I expect a few patches and driver updates will help with performance.

I really didn't like the feel of the game at all when I first played but then I found that mouse acceleration was enabled despite showing as off in the in-game menu. Changing that in the config file helped a lot.

Overall I'm impressed with the game.

These are rough numbers as I'm not finished benchmarking all my cards.

Single GTX970 Ultra
1080p - 80fps+-
1440p - 60fps+-
4K - 30fps+-

SLI GTX970 Ultra
1080p - 100fps+-
1440p - 80fps+-
4K - 50fps+-

Nvidia Preset - VRAM bottleneck with 4GB @ 4K

SLI has ghosting issues for some strange reason, image in image

The only difference is that at 1080p and 1440p theres stutter ( due to 1 core spiking to 100% usage) while at 4K I didn't notice anything unusual
