Farcry 4 issue

Hi guys, a friend of mine is having a strange problem with just 1 game farcry 4. He has a gtx 980 and 6700k setup but no matter what setting he plays farcry 4 on he gets FPS in the 10-20s. I have gone through every fix I can find online with him and today he has formatted to be met with the same issue on a fresh install. Was wondering if anyone had run into this issue and is it normal. thanks.

He sound slike he knows what he's doing so I'll ignore the silly questions like 'is he running the onboard graphics in error'.

Sounds like something ubi would do to troll pirates, Along with not letting them open the map or change FOV

With my setup im in the 50's easily at 4k even. That is not normal. Genuine copy I would assume? Verified the game files via Uplay? Updated drivers etc?

Not once have I ever heard of a pirated game make a game run at a lower FPS, most of the games copy protection is circumvented via a cracked exe. So therefore if there was such implementations it would be removed via the release group who cracked the game.

OP, sometimes it happens to be as I run my PC through my LED TV, it sometimes gets set to 24hz and I have to change it back to 60hz, is that a possibility?

That's a great suggestion actually. Low Hz rate would limit your FPS.

Yeah genuine copy lads, its mad hes getting the exact same issues on farcry 3. No other games have issues. Hes checked his res no luck lads thanks

I just took my 980ti over to his and tried that instead of his 980 and it does exactly the same thing. Looks like this is game related rather than PC related seeing as he has a fresh windows.

Enabled high performance power plan? I did a quick google and a few users are having the same issue, although one dropped MSAA to 4 from 8 and that apparently helped.

Apart from that I am stumped.

Does he have windows 7? If so what about core parking?

Hi guys, he has tried the powerplan fix and this happens on lowest settings too. He has tried this on windows 10. Will ask him about core parking

Is this 10-20 fps all the time or only in certain areas/buildings.
I get fps drop at times which I believe is a known problem.

Core parking would only affect windows 7 so if he's tried it on Windows 10 and its the same then it won't make a difference.

Its 10 - 20 fps all the time mate.

The fps loss is all the time 10 - 20 mate for him on both games.

Odd, he may have to go through a component swap process. I don't suppose he has access to that sort of stuff.

Yeah Andi he does have 3 computers, although like I said he has no issues on any other games and we have tried my 980ti which gives same results. Not only that but a fresh win 10 install has been put onto his SSD which never helped. I have literally tried everything I can thing of, I can't see it being hardware related with him getting no errors of any sorts or problems with any other games can you?
