Farcry keeps quitting (may be the overclock)

I overclocked the computer, see sig, and farcry2 keeps quitting to desktop, no errors or anything, it just closes down in about a second back to windows.

Any ideas what could be causing this??
No ideas if it is the overclock, but the settings are here.
I have not installed any new software or drivers for a few weeks - The overclock was done in the last few days.
The ram is not overclocked - Just the cpu

Bios settings are:
FSB: 400
Multi: 8x
PCI-E Frequency: 101
CPU Voltage: 1.35
CPU PLL Voltage: auto
FSB Termination Voltage: 1.30
DRAM Voltage: 2.1 (the recommended for my ocz)
NB Voltage: 1.24
SBridge Voltage: 1.3 (I think)
PCIE SATA Voltage: AUTO
Load Line Calibration: Disabled

Set all voltages bar cpu to auto, no luck.
Just trying a lower 333x9=3ghz overclock to see if anything is better

on my old ds3 my e6600 wouldn't be stable at 400fsb no matter what I tried!

my farcry was crashing all the time... then my mobo reset so i overclocked again... seems fine now.

also if your on vista 64bit make sure you have service pack 1 installed

What's your CPU voltage in widows under load ?

Have you stress tested the overclock to make sure it's stable before gaming with it ?

I don't think it would be your overclock, if it was fine during 100% load tests after the overclock (i'm assuming you ran these) then Far Cry should run fine.

Its more likely the game, my game crashes to windows (or seemingly more kind of quits to windows) with no other effects and for no reason. I'm not overclocked atm, so i don't think you need to worry about it being your overclock - just FC being a poor game which needed more testing prior release.

Just so you know aren't alone, I get the same exact problem. I save my progress religiously just in case it happens. Doesn't happen regulary, but when it does, it is very frustrasting

Doesn't quit when I have this setting. CPUZ says I have 1.22v under load and 1.20v when under 100% load. A problem I have with using 8x400 is for some reason windows, and orthos seem to think I have 9x400:confused: Not sure on the voltages windows uses on the 3.2ghz setting though.

With the 3.2ghz overclock I just assumed a cpu problem, as I know 3dmark cpu test closes the program if the cpu doesn't have enough volts. I have run orthos cpu test and blend test several hours each time, then when it passed I bumped the cpu volts up a little bit more just to make sure.

I have no clue about the motherboard voltages so usually leave them on auto, or 1 notch above stock.

I do have SP1 installed:)

I had this prob (Vista x64) but solved it by editing the customise play menu (right click exe file or relevant shortcut) and under compatibility tab, disable visual themes and disable desktop composition.

Hope this helps :)

does the same for me everytime after about an hour of playing. tried different drivers, video settings, overclocked (stable on orthos and fine in other games) and stock speeds- it's just buggy and needs a patch. Many have this problem on vista 64.
