Farnborough Airshow

Has anyone ever been to the Farnborough Airshow? I'm thinking of going to the show this year but I'm not really sure what the public show days are like, good day out?

I've been on a few days as a exhibitioner. Its great (apart from all the arms dealers....)

For some reason I'm sure i've read/heard thats the public days aren't as good

I've been there once, it's not bad, but very crowded. Also been to RIAT three times, which I prefered.

Might be going with a few guys from work if we're off that day. The line up looks good

EDIT: Just found out we may be able to get our hands on Priority/Premium/VIP tickets or whatever they're called

My main reason for even considering it, is to see the A380

Bah, there's far too much hype surrounding the A380! AN-225 is bigger.

oooo, it's the week before I start training, I could go, but I suspect I'll be too busy with preparation and stuff. I can definitely bear it in mind though.

I know, I've been onboard the AN-225

Went in one of the 'executive boxes' last year with a mate and his family (dad works at an Avionics firm) and I thought it was great.

It was busy everywhere, but we spent most of the time in the box area which wasn't crowded at all.

If you like big, loud, amazingly cool planes doing really cool things its a really great day out. Its even better if its glorious sunshine - which it has been every time I've been! Went twice last time.

I've been twice, got some VIP tickets and flew down for the day, that was a while ago (5 or 6 years ago i think). Definately worth going if you can though
