People on the internetz are always recommending stuff they appreciate, but nobody else does. Maybe this is my turn. :-)

But I found this unexpectedly fascinating... and a bit depressing. It's half an hour long, but I didn't notice it lasting that long. You'll only need a few minutes to know whether you're going to enjoy it or not.

TED.com is a fantastic site, very eye-opening and mind-expanding!

I haven't watched that talk yet though, so I'll check it out

About 1/3rd of the way and it's interesting, but that guy is trying WAY TOO HARD TO BE FUNNY.

Edit. Near the end. This guy is either super-smart or totally mental.

Randy Pausch mentions this guy in his "Last Lecture", I was wondering where I knew the name. Shame he cant do lectures quiet as good as he could :/

Does look quite interesting, but his lecturing ability does annoy me :/

My thoughts exactly, it was a pretty decent half hour though. I'm sure I've ended up at TED before via here, never really explored the site.

most of things mentioned did'nt apply to me but can see what he was talking about with all the big crazes.
