Hi All,

I'm after recommendations for 3 powerline adapters to be used in our home. They need to be

- As fast as possible
- Have pass through power

Are the two above requirements mutually exclusive, or does such a product exist? I currently have some old 200mbps D-Link ones which, whilst they are ok, could be better. Our home appears to have lead lined walls, and we need one adapter in the lounge, one in the bedroom and one in the kitchen so we can share out the wireless signal appropriately.

I have no real idea how much a decent 3 pack would cost, so rough prices appreciated. I've seen some that claim to be 500mbps with gigabit ethernet ports on them, which would obviously be nice. This bandwidth is shared amongst the adapters though... right?

have a look at smallnetbuilder, they have extensive tests for powerline adapters
Bandwidth will be shared by devices and not adapters....

Thanks for the reply, looks like the fast ones don't do power pass through. Do you know if these things still go bat**** crazy if you put them on a 4 way adapter? I have limited power sockets in 2 of the locations that pass through power would help solve..

I have used a 500Mbps PowerLine Adapter on a simple (i.e. without any surge suppression) four-way adapter and in my case it made absolutely no discernible difference. Your experience may differ.

TP Link have the gigabit pass though versions of their 500 mbps adapters on their website.
Due 'soon'.
