Fast startu-up: any downside?

I prefer it disabled, reason being when I shut my PC down my lighted USB hub and mouse actually turn off, can be annoying having a blue glow all night with fast start up enabled.

It just 'hibernates' your system settings to prevent needing a full system initialization when it boots. It will only cause an issue if you change your hardware configuration while it's off with fast startup enabled. But even then it will just do another system initialisation and boot normally but slower.

No risk, doesn't use any power, leave it on.

Large wear on your SSD?
Doesn't is save the Ram to your SSD (or HDD) which could be 32GB or whatever your ram size is, every time you shutdown?

Was a pain in the ass to get in to the BIOS on my old MSI board if you forget to either turn it off or tell it to boot to BIOS. (or if you had an issue)
9 times out of 10 I forgot.

No problems on my current MSI board though.

I turned off hibernation which in turn automatically turns off fast start up. Just to keep my SSD life healthy. With a SSD you don't need fast startup anyway.

No. That's Hibernate, this is Fast Startup or Hybrid Boot. It just stores the system configuration in a file, which will be tiny. It doesn't store the complete state of the PC like Hibernation does.

Basically, rather than have to figure out all the devices in your PC and load their drivers every time it boots, it just knows what they are from the saved configuration file and opens the right drivers and loads into Windows quicker as a result.
