It seems like the last day this will be showing in cinemas is the 8th June. That seems quite short. Is that normal?

Annoyingly me and my friends were planning to go see it in 2 weeks time.

The domestic (US) box office for this was nothing special, Is that why it's releasing so quickly to digital or was that announced way before the theatrical release?
