faster a switch or straight into a router ?

will using all my lan devices in a gigabit switch be any slower than having them directly connected to my adsl gigabit routers ports ? ( ie 1 cable from my router into my gigabit switch then all my devices in the switch )

just wondered if it was any slower as i'm getting fibre soon and wanted max throughput etc ( also using a cloud server )
