Would my system benefit from faster ram?..or is better timings better?

Currently i have 4x 2GB sticks (for a total of 8GB of ram) ,Its G.Skill Ripjaws 1600Mhz with timings of 7-8-7-24

The ram i was looking at is 2x 4GB sticks 2400Mhz 16-16-16-36 Timings

My system specs -

  • i7 3770K (Stock)
  • Z77X-UD3H
  • GTX 970 4GB EXOC Silent.
  • 2X Samsung 840 EVO 250GB SSDs in Raid 0
  • X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro

Would it be worth the change of ram,Would i actually notice any difference in games?..For example Battlefield 4.

The ram your looking at looks like ddr4 with the timings, so wouldn't work!

Stick with what you have, you may be able to go up a speed bin to 1866mhz, just up dram volts a little, 0.1v, may do it on stock volts, you just have to test.

Changing your RAM even for the fastest available in real world situations (i.e. games rather than synthetic benchmarks like sisoft sandra etc), will get you at best 5% improvement - I personally wouldn't bother.

Thanks for replying chaps,Guess il just stick with what i have for now then until my next upgrade.

For my next upgrade im looking for at least a 6 Core CPU,16GB DDR4 ram etc. :D
