Anyone watch this last night? It was quite interesting for something they must have put together quite quickly after the recent discovery.

One thing i disagree with was the claim that going faster than light means you can travel backwards in time, we know light speed isn't instant so how do these ftl neutrinos mean time travel is possible, all they're doing is moving a bit quicker, the ultimate speed limit would be zero time or instant like quantum entanglement, nothing can go faster than that so where are they getting these ideas from?

You can't go back in time because time doesn't exist - it's just an abstract concept used as a system of measurement.

It's all just theoretical mumbo jumbo because the numbers don't (and never will) properly add up.

I thought that they'd since proven that the measurements were wrong? I've recorded it and will watch it tonight.

No - the fun part was that there were theories as to why the measurements were wrong, but no direct evidence/proof.

Mildly ironic and thoroughly entertaining.

Exactly, i don't get why so many scientists subscribe to the theory of dimensional time which as far as i know has no evidence, time can be understood much more simply as motion or rate of change, varying based on things like speed and mavity.

I didn't see this but I do enjoy watching theoretical science. Yes, none of it is possible in reality but the theories can still be interesting.

But yes, of course time travel is just a fun science fiction theory that could never become reality.
And of course, the notion of Time itself is always an interesting subject too. Time as we know it is purely man made but the universe changes as 'our' time moves. However, this isn't due to 'time', it's due to many variables which are true measurements such as thosem entioned by radiation above. But rather than look at all these variables for everything in existance, we quantify all of this with 'Time'. It's just easier.

So the idea of travelling through Time is totally irrational.
The absolute only possible way to traverse time is to travel around the globe, westerly on a map...or run across the Hoover Dam from Nevada to Arizona or something. lol.

I also love reading up on theories involving Black Holes nad the Event Horizons of them, and what could theoretically happen if you could hover on the edge of this, or even cross it and survive.
