Faster Torrent

Make sure that you are firewalled in any way and that the correct ports are open.

The default for Azureus is 14219 so opening that should see gains.

However, if you have done all this it could just be you are connected to a bad torrent. Torrents rely on People seeding and on public torrents you tend to get a lot of leeches and people who hit and run.

is 14219 for the incomming TCP port or UDP port

I think Azureus uses TCP for most of the data transfer. However it uses UDP for the distributed database feature. Its best just to open up both the TCP and UDP ports.

I always found Azureus to be slow, just seems to be too much going on. I'm a BitTornado man myself, never had a reason to try another. Someone can try and win me over to uTorrent though?

Azureus never worked for me and seemed to be a system hog. Utorrent is the best client out there by and absolute mile imho.

I have to agree, just installed uTorrent and it's way different to last time I was deciding between lots of them. No more separate windows :D

Just mentioned to my friend about uTorrent, and he linked me to this Linky
Anyone else heard this? Is it a case of download it while you can? :p

Yep µTorrent all the way, to abide with my ISP's Fair Usage Policy I can only download between midnight and 8am so µtorrent with it's scheduler is perfect for me.
Don't use the default port, choose a random one and make sure to forward that port in your router, also allow µTorrent access in any software firewall you may have.

:)

Recently moved over to uTorrent from Azureus, similar speeds BUT it uses way less ram. Azureus uses ridiculous amounts of memory when you leave it running for a few days.
