Just wondered which brand is the fastest out there, heard somewhere the INNO3D 8800GT is meant to be the fastest and another article said the Gainward Bliss is?
Where do EVGA and BFG branded 8800GT's rank in the speed charts?

EVGA SSC, slighty faster shader clock than the Zotac AMP, both same Core/Memory speeds, but the EVGA SSC has got 1728 on the shaders where as the Zotac has 1700, but id get the Zotac as i doubt 28mhz extra on the shaders is worth an extra £20+.

Far better brand, warrenty, and you dont need worry if you swap cooler and get caught later if you RMA it or Step Up.

Enjoy your card.

BTW, the Shader may be 1750mhz on the SSC as some review sites showed it to be, the specs were wrong here before for the lower models but now corrected. (EVGA site does say 1728 but reviews sites say 1750, you can see soon). :)

The quickest ive seen is the Palit version, they do a normal one then there "sonic" overclocked one which has

Core Clock: 650 MHz
Memory Clock: 1900 MHz
Shader Clock: 1650MHz

just over the EVGA and ive seenthese for sub 140 quid!

The fastest GT card is a GTS! :)

Seriously, the price of the fastest GT's is in some cases overlapping with the stock GTS's, so take into account the better cooler and few FPS over a GT, and that's what I'd go for.

The fastest GT IS the Inno3D O/C which i have, came pre clocked to 700/2000 :p
But why pay £200 on a GT? i ordered the GTS on T.W.O for £215 and although its only abit quicker than the O/C GT at stock, theres more headroom if you want to clock it further, plus it has a far better cooler (a lot queiter and better temps) :)

Inno3D, has a lower Shader so cant claim that even if it can be raised, facts are facts.

Its all over review websites the EVGA SSC and Asus Top card are joint fastest clock wise (Core/Shader/Memory).

Better than 1-2 years and more sellable later.

You best scout through all BFG threads and say same, even though they are known to try wangle out of it on most occasions. ;)

I think he would be better using the Change Stock cooler without voiding warrenty and Allowed to OC policy, cause no other Vendor allows this.

Dont try be smart m8, go do some reading.

Same as if you chip the Core swapping the stock cooler they wont honour warrenty, use a bit of common sence.

P.S A card will lock up before it Fry's from overclocking without any hard mods which will show up in a RMA anyhow.

not always, my 9800PRO just went sizzle sizzle stop, and was my own doing... It did get replaced by Sapphire tho, which was nice.

Personally id go for a sub £200 GT at full OCed clocks with a warantee that I dont need to void than to spend £30 more on a GTS, then void the warantee to OC it. Afterall, the stock cooler on a GT is poo, but if it causes an untouched pre oced card to go pop, its not your problem and is covered by warantee.
