Fastest 939 CPU for MSI K8N?

Looking to get a 2nd hand PC with this mobo:

Just wondered what the fastest CPU I can get for this is, and how it compares to a AMD Athlon64 3000+.

cripes, I had no idea they would be so expensive...ho hum

problem I have is I'm buying a mobo like my current one to try and help make saving my RAID setup as easy as possible - not only that it's a cheap option, I was hopeful a decent CPU would be ~£50 tops...nevermind.

how about a X2 4200+ for ~£40...that any good?

if I get one it'll be for PS2 emulation TBH...
