My X800 is dieing fast, graphics corruption etc.

I do not want to upgrade to PCI Express at the moment.

What is the fastest AGP replacement?

Is it the Nvidia 7 series?

Ahhh I forgot about the X1950Pro... but from benchmarks i've seen they are generally equal or slower to the fastest 7900GS cards in most things.

I think there's an X1950XT out soon for AGP, and I know that the new ATI R6XX cards are also coming to AGP, so it may be worth holding on a bit.

you need a gainward bliss AGP 7900GS+ 512mb "goes like hell edition" I have one of these & a HIS ICE 512mb x1950 pro AGP (now for sale) ANd the nvidia card is significantly better....quiter and uses less power

x1950XT is the fastest AGP card, its been out ages now, but its by GeCube and these guys wont sell them. :)

Its only the mid/low range R600 cards that are coming out on AGP, the 2400/2600's, doubt they would be any faster, probably slower as being 128bit to, as they will be competing with the 8600's, and even the old x1950pro is faster than the 8600's.

The Gainward Bliss Golden sample 7800GS+ 512mb has the same power as a 7900, mine runs silent & absolutely rocks :D

I've just replaced my gainward 7800GS+ 512.
It was a barnstormer! did 630/1500 for 3dmark05 got 10K and played games at 600/1400. quiet too. gotta get em from the bay now and they aint that cheap.

I sold my Gainward 7800GS 512Mb (7800GT) on eBay and bought a new X1950Pro with cash to spare.
Performance is pretty even IMHO although the Gainward card was quieter & a better clocker.
ATI drivers are better though.
