ok guys the time has come to upgrade the gfx cards in my 5th and 7th pc's. one uses a ti4200 128meg and the other uses a 6200 128mb (64bit mem interface).

both are agp cards.

now what would you guys say are the best cards to get to replace these with? the cost has to be under 30 quid per card inc vat but the cats is that they have to be brand new and not second hand.

Are you sure it's worth it? What CPU's are they using? The Ti4200 is a pretty solid little card, unless it's really bottlenecking the system.

for £30 per card, and you wanting brand new, its not worth the upgrade im afraid, youd get very little extra out of it.

turbo cache cards are slow and pci-e only. i require agp cards.

yes the ti4200 is a very solid card and runs unreal tournament 2004 quite well.

the 2 machines i have are running both Athlon Xp cpus. one is running an [email protected] and the other machine is running a xp3200+ cpu (2.2ghz).

cpu power is sufficient but i just need faster gfx cards.

would be great if i could get a hold of 2 6600gt agp cards but i doubt i can for the money im looking to spend.

any other suggestions on what i could do. i will consider second hand stuff now but no ebay crap since i just don;t trust it.

the 6200 has the advantage of purevideo which is very good. but its 64bit mem interface is severly hampering its performance.

ok i may just keep the ti4200 pc as it is. so could spend 60 quid on a single gfx card. i have seen agp 7600gs sell for 60 quid all in. what do you guys think?

you seem to have been on this forum for a while judging by the posts there dude, and probably seen a lot of info in here regarding your question. i'd stick with what you got and go down the pub with some mates and buy them a drink...., you could get two rounds...

yea the machine with the 6200 in it is the main one to upgrade i guess. since i have the machine in my sig and the other 2 mentioned above all hooked up for network games.

gonna go with the 7600gs agp card option. should be enough to get games running. will sell on the 6200agp card i have.

i would hold off just a little longer and see what price the 7600GT AGP is released at.

9800 is more of a downgrade since it will be slower in doom 3 then the 6200 i currently have.

gonna wait on the prices of the 7600agp line up and see how things shape up.
