Hi guys, just a very quick question. I want to be absolutely sure that whatever I buy isn't going to require external power as this card is going into a machine with a PSU which doesn't supply PCI-E power.

I don't know any GTX1060's that don't require external power so I think GTX 1050ti is the best you're going to get.

Yeah that's what I'd come up with after a bit of research, but I was holding out a little hope! :D

Don't think so no, it'll draw too much power from 12v line
even using a twin molex to single pci-e?
With the molex attached to separate PSU lines if being really sure?
That should be a max of 30W (2.5A) coming from each molex.

You could even lower the power limit on the 1060 to 90% in afterburner with almost zero impact on performance.

edit: a quick google says that each molex should be good for over 100 watts, so it's no problem at all. I am assuming that your motherboard is providing 75w through the connector, but even without that, you'd be fine with the double molex.
