Fastest card with power comming from the PCI-E slot?

Just wondering what the fastest card which powers from the slot is at the moment?
Someone asked me and being honest i dont really have a clue, i know it was the ATI 4670 some time back.

Other problem might be the PSU, i think its only 'around' 300w, should be okay though as long as it needs no external connectors right?

GTS250 'Green' Edition.

Or if you need DX11 then the 5670 (though it is considerably slower than the GTS250).
 
I would guess the 5670, that's the fastest Radeon card that doesn't require external power afaik. It's faster than a GT240 (no external power) but slower than a 9800GT (6pin connector).

Hmmm, think you might be right, they reduced it from 2 x 6pin to 1 x 6pin on the Green didn't they... :o

In that case the 5670 is the best without a 6pin.
 
AFAIK the 9800gt 'green' and 'eco' editions are the fastest with no external power requirements, DX10 only though if it bothers you.
