Fastest passive GPU

The 6850 is clearly the faster card but I am having some concerns after reading some reviews. The card will run quite hot but interestingly by attaching a silent fan it will run 40 degrees lower! Better than any other cooler in the market and with less noise. The only problem is the extra space needed.
 
6850 as you know, and finding somewhere for some small fans in that system would make a hell of a difference. Not just to the gpu, but overall temps in the case would be improved.

I've got a 7770 in my HTPC - very low power (I have expoxied a heatsink to it and don't have a GPU fan).

I would expect a 7750 to be better than mine for perf per watt though (but I game quite heavily unlike yourself by the sounds of it).

Don't go too OTT on the noise front - once youv'e applied the basics (good fans - well positioned etc, good component choice etc.) you get extrememely diminishing returns for your money.

E.G. a door for your TV cabinet might cost a fiver and have more effect on noise than anything else you can do to the PC (even if its a glass door!)
