I'm looking for a workstation CPU which will give me the fastest single-thread speed.
I came across the Intel i9 9900K. Am I right in thinking this would be the fastest for single threaded? It seems to run at 5GHz when only 2 cores are enabled.
How much further could I get 2 cores with AIO watercooling? 5.5GHz? 6GHz?
A lot of my work is memory-bound. What would be the fastest memory to go with this? I need at least 64GB. Is there any latency variation regarding the number of sticks?
Recommendations for a good motherboard are also welcome.
Would it be worth having a graphics card so the CPU does less work?
