Im just curious as to what kinda speeds everyone has experianced as a driver and or as a passenger (on a private road of course ;)

Myself:
Driver - 135mph (Vectra SRi 150)
Passenger - 155mph (Integra Type R F1) Owner reackons he has had 170mph out of it and was still going.

Worse thread ever! How many people on here do you think have calibrated speedometers?

Very true, and it is probably the worse thread ever..but its still an indication (give or take)

I used to have a Honda engined Rover 216GTI, totally standard about from back box and the very first Pipercross induction kit (they used my car as the test bed for them :) ) and the speedo read 130mph.

Sure it's not FI?
Sorry for the delay in responding to this.....

One of my old bosses was a big Honda nut, always bought Hondas for years. When the Integra Type-R first came out, now this is what he says....Honda UK asked him if he would like to buy a very limited edition race tuned Integra Type-R F1 (im sure thats what he called). It produced something like 300bhp and was race tuned etc etc.

When I was in the car with him, we certainly did 150mph in it and it still had plenty left in it. He did several track days in it etc etc and claims he had 170mph out of it.

Maybe someone could shed some more light on it?

It'd be a right job to get a DC2 up to 300bhp without some serious amount of work, work that "Honda UK" wouldn't be in the slightest bit interested in doing. Not so difficult if Honda strapped a Turbo or SC to it, but let's face it -that's not exactly Honda's style or Type R tradition is it.

The DC5's you see on TV in the BTCC are pushing around 300bhp from a 2.0 K20.

Fishy...

Thats what i thought at the time, I do know that there was a problem with the engine though and had to be replaced twice, both times the engine coming direct from Japan. I could be wrong about the 300bhp, but i do remember there being a numbered plaque type thing down on the centre console somewhere...dont know if thats on every Integra Type-R though.

All I do know for sure, was that it was extremely quick...and when we went out in it nothing could keep up at all, and we did race a M3 and left it for dead.

I dont know if this was a factory option on the Integra Type-R's, im guessing it probably was though, in the front lower bumper it had two round spotlights with black surrounds around them.
