Fastest speed

as a driver, 120mph in a 2.8 capri.
and then stuck it in 3rd instead of fifth and blew the gearbox.
was very scary as the back end started to bounce.
got it stationary without any further drama though.

Driver: 130-140ish Omega v6
Passenger: 155mph limiter S55 AMG, really didn't feel fast at all, so smooth and solid

ermmm. hmm. Not sure but on track maybe 160 or just under around Donny in a GT2 Mantis when I tested for a team. Feb 1998. Or roughly the same in the M5 at Snett 1997. Neither had an active speedo so thats just rough guesswork.

On the road, about 170ish on a friends Suzi gsxr 11. Acle straight 1989. (Bike was early model with the `bendy' wheels).

Maybe 170 (very briefly before having to slow) passengering in a former clients f40 near Snett. That car was sadly sold to fund his racing career in 2000. I know his plate was F40 HOT, I'd give his name but one must respect friends and the law. No idea who bought the car but it was fitted with a factory semi race performance kit. It had what I could only call a giggle button, which was a three way switch down to the lower right knee roll area. The positions were 370 - 480 - 580 which requires little further explanation. It was the single most bonkers car I've ever ridden in by far and it had the sound to suit.

Now I'm just another boring also ran lol.

Driver = 130mph (Ford Scorpio)
Passenger = 145-150mph (Lamborghini Countach)

*Note* Nothing i've said can be held against me in a court of law :p *Note*

Oh god. Please, I am so offended!
I cannot believe that I didn't believe the word of a random guy on the internet...

The reason I asked, is because there is only on 97 GTR (It's the longtail) that's been LM kitted, and it was sold at an auction pretty recently...

But once again, I won't let knowledge get in the way of a random forum poster... :rolleyes:

Edit: Arrogant ****. What was the need for that? I asked a simple question to see if it was the same car. Seriously. Get off your high horse...

Oh for the love of.....

My post wasn't intended to be even the slightest bit offensive to you. Very sorry if you took it that way, mea maxima culpa.

Tell you what - next time you post a question like that, I'll stay completely away.

130 in a E-type :eek:

Scary considering they don't corner or stop well. :D

Although the Charger is very cool. :D

*goes back to lurking in Motors as he's jsut remembered why he doesn't post much in here*

Simon/~Flibster

That Daytona rep really was waaaaaay scarier than the E-Type at speed. It was completely planted, and really was effortlessly belting along, but I was always mindfull of just how much it weighed and how long it would take to finish crashing in an accident!

E-Type was fantastic though, single best car I've driven. Didn't stop, had no grip, controls were very heavy, it overheated and brake fade was getting horrendous after 3 laps. Wonderful car, just wonderful. :)

Sorry. I just couldn't see why you'd say he didn't care.
As a student starting an automotive design degree next year I was genuinely interested to know the car.
