Fastest speed

156mph in a heavily breathed on 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 ragtop.

147mph in a 1984 Mazda RX-7 GSE. At this point the body shape of the 1st generation RX-7's becomes a wing. Rather scary to know that 215 feet of road is going under you per second and all of a sudden the P rated tyres on the front come light on the skids. Was NOT a fun feeling.

198mph in a slightly breathed on 1988 XJR-S V12 prototype that never made it on the road. The engine only lasted 200 miles due to the excessive pressures of the twin superchargers

Ok, so does skimming 16 feet above the road count? :D

If so, I got you all beat. I managed to blag a ride in the rear seat of one of these!! :p

Driving: 125 GPS verified in Mitsubishi Carisma, was it's top speed.
Done the same in my Prelude, but that's hardly any effort, still got a lot more to go on gearing ;)

Passenger: 105 indicated in dad's Ford Anglia 105E, with Subaru 1800cc 4wd running gear.

Driver

Car: Indicated 180+ R33 GTR. As it was only c450bhp I'd guess closer to 170
Bike: Indicatred 175 - Blackbird. I'd guess closer to 165, significantly more pant troubling than the car

Passenger

Car: Indicated 175+ R33 GTR. Some nut job proving the 500+bhp of his car on the A1 in the afternoon.
Bike: Over 160 GSXR1100. The one time I got a lift home from a coworker when in cyprus. No helmet, wearing tshirt, shorts and flipflops. I needed a lie down afterwards.

Mach 2+ as one of several passengers

Driver - speedo indicated 130mph in the LCR
Passenger - speedo indicated ? 120 or so.

EDIT: I assume we don't count planes on runways :p
