Fastest way to get my license?

Hi I'm emigrating as soon as I get my license and want to get it done ASAP. I passed my theory test today yet the earliest practical test dates are between late September and October. Is anyone familiar with these intensive driving courses? I'm in the Bristol area and would be ok shelling out the money if it came with a practical test included. Thanks

Earliest test dates are a bit of a joke, book something miles off then check the site everyday, they release new dates/times as cancellations and whatnot come through, I booked my test something like 2 months away and after a few days checking I got one a few days later.

I've known people pass with the intensive courses but i think the general consensus is that you're a poorer driver for it. It has worked well for friends who had motorbike licences already so they had all the road sence etc.

i am 27 and still no license, drinking get in the way

Book test now like what has already been said. Cancellations come up all the time. Plus they release new test slots as the waiting list reaches a certain length.

Not a fan of these "intensive driving" courses that offer to get you to a state where you can pass your test in a week or whatever.

They usually only teach you the bare minimum about how to scrape your test. And learning to drive safely and properly isn't about barely scraping your test.

Check every day for cancellations. My test was booked for 3 months away, my instructor found a cancellation for me and brought it forward by 2 and a half months.

What I don't understand is why you are taking a UK driving test and then leaving the UK.

I would have thought the UK licence will not be entirely valid in another country. A lot of places require a temporary international licence when you go on holiday so living their will definitely require a local test.

To answer the OP's question: quickest way is to an intensive course. But best advice is to learn more slowly.

Just take normal lessons, if you're a natural you'll pick it up in no time and pass first time.

Depends where it is, think it cost me somewhere less than £200 from applying for my provisional to getting my UK license (mates rates lessons). Compared to Germany it cost my gf about €2000, all driver training requires an actual instructor rather than just someone sitting with you and they cover things like driving in the rain, at night and possibly on the autobahn (off the top of my head)

For her to move here for more than a year all she needs to do is fill in a form to be issued with a UK license. I believe most EU countries have a similar rule, outside of the EU is a bit more pot-luck
