FAT32/NTFS

I am using a 250GB for gaming and I am currently using Fat32 File System.

Would I be better off using NTFS ?

If so can I change it to NTFS without doing that whole reformatting crap again ?

just goto start run and type

convert c: /fs:ntfs

or change c to whatever drive you want. and yes ntfs is much better than fat32. i can't explain why - it just is....

NTFS is a much better file system.

It has support for encryption, disk quotas, compression, volume shadow copy, better redundancy, volume mount points and lots more.

I dispair at anyone still using FAT32 for any other reason bar interoperability.

), but if it's at all possible it's better to format a drive freshly as NTFS than to convert it from FAT32 to NTFS as it'll perform better

well atm I got 90GB of games on C drive and really dont feel up to re-installing them all again.

Should I leave the conversion til I next reformat ?

nope, do it now, just do a checkdisk before you do it and make sure you don't knock out the power or anything

Just for future reference I never really bothered with this before but should I install the lates nforce drivers ?

If so when should I do it ? Before I put the graphics drivers on or after ?
Or as soon as Windows XP is on.

Some people don't necessarily update their mobo drivers, especially if the PC is running fine with their current drivers. I myself like to have the latest. As for when to install drivers, this is what I do:

Install XP
Install nForce drivers
Install graphics drivers

If you are running XP 32-bit then use these nForce drivers. If you are running XP 64-bit then use these drivers instead.
