if using a harddrive between mac and pc. best to use NTFS i know there is a similar question in this forum, but its not answering this question as such.

so does fat32 only take 4gb files and under? and NTFS stores much bigger files?

so i should reformat my new hdd to NTFS?

OS X can read NTFS, it can't write it.

I find the best way to do this if it's only you who needs access to the drives, is to format the disc as HFS, then use MacDrive on the Windows machine to read it.

Although, however OS X can connect to an NTFS partition through a network so technically you can have the best of both worlds and use Parallels on Bootcamp which uses NTFS but can transfer files still :)

Although FAT32 will be best on a Bootcamp without Parallels setup :)
