Fatality or Audigy

Was thinking of the £150 fatality but dont have that spare amount of cash at the moment, I play a few on lines games like CS:S and a lot of BF2. Just wondering if i didnt go for the fatality system, what is the Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Platinum eX - Retail (SC-014-CL) system like instead ??

Or just noticed that this is on special on OCuk this week ?

i noticed a big difference in sound quality in everything when i went from an audigy2zs to a xfi fata1ity.

Music sounds amazing with the new crystaliser, and the way it places sounds on 5.1 systems compared to the audigy is stunning

well worth it

Save up and get the Fatality mate, I've found it better in all respects, sound & drivers, highly recommended!

yep, way more stable. better 5.1, clearer sounds all through.

Get the X-Fi Xtreme Music and save your money over the Fatal1ty IMO. I doubt you could tell the difference in the slightest.

I want the drive bay thing though, as I have a Yamaha Electric Piano and need the Midi in / out connectors. Not bothered about anything else, I mean the remote i dont think will ever be used. No point for it, Case is near enough for me

The standard X-Fi Platinum seems to have completely disappeared (even Creative don't seem to sell it direct :confused:

) so the Fatal1ty seems to be the only choice in this case then.

No issue using the card without the front bay is there (Fatal1ty FPS that is)?
The ribbon cable is a PITA re air flow.

What about the ZS platinum or the cheaper A2 Platinum eX?

Sorry for the thread hi-jacking, but I've a quick question about the Fatal1ty remote- Can you control Winamp with it?

I have the A2 Platinum eX and you can control winamp with that so i shouldnt think the x-fi is any different.

The Fatality also has 64meg of onboard RAM which the Xtreme Music version doesn't.

These Fatality cards, will i notice much better sound over Asus A8V onboard using my Medusas 5.1's and Logitech z-3e (2.1 system) ?

Put simply, yes! Pretty much any Audigy 1 class card or above will sound better than onboard and use less CPU too.

Definitely, I've got the medusa's and although the sound quality from them's not great, the 5.1 works really well for gaming, Quake 4 multi's good as I can tell where other players are much easier with them.
