Fault finding (Electrical)

Hey, wounder if someone can help me.
On friday I got my "fault finding practical assessment" (2330 level 3)

Anyways on the continuity of a radial and lighting circuit, why do we only test R1+R2 and not the neutral?

How would we be able to tell if there was an open neutral?

I realise this is probably not the best place to ask but can't be bothered to register on an electrical forum just to ask that!

i think its because neutral will be tested as a result of testing R1 and R2, i dont think i got the question...

Lol, not to worry registered on an electrical forum and got the answer!

r1= Live
r2 = earth

But apparently you do test neutral when fault finding

For the exam we will just be doing continuity, insulation resistance, polarity and a visual.

Got a ring, radial and lighting to test.

Gonna go into college tomorrow for a bit of practice.
I'd be ok if I was just doing testing on my own but when there is an assessor watching you, Puts you under pressure a bit.
