Hi guys, my system is having about one crash a day where it completely freezes and I'm having to reboot.

It did it today just playing WOW at 9pm. Yesterday it happened just browsing the web.

Is there anything that I can fault find for this issue? i.e a something that could be running at the time of the crash?

It's really annoying me now.

Thanks

A complete freeze, or "hang" condition is not the same as a crash, so I'm guessing you aren't getting a blue screen. One typical cause of this is memory/page file depletion. You might be able to determine the application by running your Task Manager, enabling View Process for All Users, and see what is using it up.

+1 for event viewer

Look under the 'system' tab

Random lock ups tend to point to drivers or bad memory. Possibly hard drive.

Check your temperatures too

I will check event viewer. It just happened again today. On WOW again but I had left the machine so not sure what time it actually froze.

Hmm, suspicious?

Clicking on the the critical one displays "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."

is that me rebooting the machine or is that the machine actually stopping because of something causing the freeze?

Forgive me if MY memory is not so good, but is this the i7 rig of yours that lost a memory channel not so long ago?

Last machine. I bought a brand new one after that :)

I will await the freeze to occur, due one today! and see what the error section brings.
