Fault on my Dell FP2001 TFT Screen

Hi, I've noticed this on my Dell FP2001

It's a vertical line that shows up on white, yellow and other light backgrounds, you can just make it out on the photo, but it looks a lot worse to the naked eye.

at first i thought it was something firefox had done, but it's defo the monitor as I've just plugged it into my notebook external socket.

Fair enough I've had the screen for about 2 years now, but still.

Has anyone else has this problem, not just with dells but with others also

Just give dell a call matey,

Their returns department are pretty good, and im guessing you would get a 2007 or poss even a 2008 as a replacement.

My dell 2007wfp has a very feint band like that but it never bothers me since there's very few things that show it up, just about the only time I see it is when using an art package with blank white image, which I don't do often. It's effectively invisible in games/movies/internet/apps.

I always get jittery if something like that happens, in my experience it's almost always foreboding of something catasrophic about to go wrong: normally 1-2 days after the warranty expires!

It's still within the standard Dell 3 year warranty and they're normally pretty good (look at the user on here who kept swapping the refurb units they sent him because of slight problems).
