I currently have the Cambridge Soundworks DTT2500 5.1 speaker set which in the past I have found perfectly adequate for my uses. I have it connected to both my PC and PS3, however recently whenever I move the volume knob the speakers crackle and cut off and the only level I have found where all the speakers appear to be working is a tad too loud when using the PS3. Also the rear analogue input socket appears to have stopped working aswell.
I have looked at alternatives but the only option I have found that is currently available that has both digital inputs and the three analogue 5.1 inputs is the Logitech Z5500 which would be ideal if it wasn't for the massive subwoofer which would require a major redesign of my already too small bedroom, and would be a waste of space considering I do not like heavy bass so the subwoofer would be turned all but off anyway.
Can anyone help with any of the following:
An alternative system that is fairly compact in size that has both analogue 5.1 (3 x minijack connectors) and digital inputs (that can decode Dolby Digital & DTS). Either a full system or a unit I can connect my existing speakers to.
Know anyone who has an old fully working DTT2500 (or even the DTT3500) they are willing to sell (currently none are listed on EBay).
Know a good audio repair service that I could send my faulty unit to for repair.
Thanks
