Not a graphics card expert so I thought I'd ask for some opinions here- I found a faulty GTX 570 on ebay which apparently won't give output on its own but seems to work otherwise and the seller believes it could be used in SLI as a secondary card. This isn't a problem to me as SLI would be how I intend to use it in addition to my working 570 and it would allow me to grab a bargain (I can't really afford an upgrade otherwise) but unfortunately the seller isn't able to test it in SLI. I asked him about it and he said this (I think he's German or something hence translation):
"I'm not able to test in sli as i don't have other gtx570. But i have made some load test with Heavin and Valley benchmarks. I will explane how i do it.
When is single card does not give and output from dvi and hdmi on both of my pci-e , but when is second card. My primere is 8800gt from her i have display from dvi. Also i conected on same monitor and hdmi cable to 570. After it load up windows i disconect the dvi from from the 8800gt and i have output from the gtx570 and she become primery card. With that i were able to do Heavin and Vally load test. I don't seen any artifacts or other screen problem. That why i think it can be used as Sli card."
So to anyone with experience with this type of thing, obviously it's still a risk as it's not possible to test properly but do you think it would be likely to work as a second card in SLI based on this information?
