Faulty Dell U2711b monitor, and I want to return it and get refunded. OC does not want to send a collection service. Does anyone else had to send their return product and pay for that?

Parcelforce is charging nearly £30 for this

Is this right?

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Is this one of the 1 year warranty monitors?

Those with the 3 year Dell warranty will be swapped out on site.

If OcUK insist you pay to return it then they need to agree to reimburse you if the monitor is faulty.

What exactly is the fault?

Post in the Customer Service section of the forum and someone with more authority will look into this for you.

If you're entitled to a refund under the Sale of Goods Act, then you would normally expect the retailer to refund any carriage charges also, provided they're "reasonable" (in other words, don't send the goods back by taxi).

£30 doesn't sound excessive for a large monitor, I'm sure they'll do the decent thing.

Did you actually ask them if they could collect it?

I did it with a 27", and they picked it up. You just need to be persistent.

Hi all, the monitor seems to have some internal connection problems as its image comes and goes. If I gently push one of the frame corners the image comes back and goes again in few minutes or even seconds.
Yes the monitor is with 1 year warranty, and I did not realize that these are refurbished models as these we`re the only ones OC`s we`re selling at the time of purchase.
Yes once I got the RMA number I rang them up asking hows is collection going to be done and they said that I have to arrange the whole thing.

Push it anyway. I was able to get them to collect it. There is no way in hell I'm paying money out of my own pocket to send it back, and then probably have to insist they refund it once all is done.

LC155 you`re the man. I rang them up again and they said the same thing again, but i pushed on and yes they`re collecting on friday ;-D

Thanks again LC155
