Hi guy,

I think I Have a faulty ethernet port, it connects intermittently and when it does connect it's never above 10Mbs, the board is a Asus P8Z68 - V Pro, and was part of an overclocked bundle.

I have tried different cables and ports going into my switch, to no avail, I know they work as when I connect them to my Mac Pro they perform and full gigabit speed.

I have also tried reinstalling drivers ect. still no change, have I missed anything at all with this motherboard? I have set up an RMA as I think it's hardware related.

I've had one on the test bench at my work doing the same. It would just never conect. Tried everything, BIOS, Drivers, Windows, Deep CMOS. It then got flung across the test room and into a pile called EBAY.

Hi, having my own problems with intel lan on these Mobo's, tried P8Z68-V & Vpro. Can't get my netgear router (DGN2000) to negotiate with the ethernet at all so far.

Hi, i have managed to resolve my connection issues with these Z68 boards and my netgear router by changing the router.
It would seem that this board or the onboard intel pro adapter is currently not compatible with a netgearDGN2000(including latest firmware).
I don't think my router was faulty, as the router was fully functional and stable with 2 laptops, both wired and wireless, aswell as another desktop PC using a wired intel gigabit pro adapter.

Would be interested to learn if anyone else has had any success with a DGN2000 and these boards so that i could rule out the possibility that it was indeed a faulty router.

Many thanks to James and the team at ocuk, who have also assisted me over the last couple of days.

Fine over here, have you installed the drivers included on the disc that came with the motherboard or just using the provided default windows drivers?

If it helps I'm using a Sagem router provided by sky (no idea on model number?) and using some random ethernet cable I found in a box :D

Glad to hear your up and running on your Sagem router pgi947, i'm pretty convinced it's the Netgear DGN2000 router thats been giving me the problems.

Was wondering if anyone else, including the OP, as to whether they are having problems with netgear routers or not. Is the issue only with the DGN2000 or did i indeed have a stange fault with mine.

Have you got your issues sorted yet Entemples1?

Hi guys thanks for the reply, and update: I RMA'd the board, and OCUK tested it and it's faulty, it takes ages to connect (sometimes doesn't) and never negotiates above 10Mb/s, they have replace the board already and have shipped it back, should get it tomorrow (excellent return service by the way). I do have a netgear router (sky) and a netgear gigabit switch, but neither are faulty as both connect to all my other devices at gigabit speeds. will le you know what happens when I get the board back.

It seems other people on the net are having issues with this NIC though.

another update: received the board this morning, all installed and working gigabit ethernet now, must've been a faulty board. good look everyone else!

Umm!!!
Got me wondering now,
Ive got a Asrock z68 board and when I connect to my laptop wireless, via 54mps BE router then Cat5e cable to Ethernet plug on board/pc, best i can get is 1.5-2.2mbps.
Also tried connecting my pc directly to my laptop with cat5e ethernet cable and even then best i can get is 10-11.5ish mbps??

Intel 82579V's - featured on many P67 and Z68 chipset boards - really don't like Netgear kit.

If I connect my Asus P8Z68-V to my Netgear GS608 8-port Gigabit switch, my connection will drop out every 1-2mins. If I plug into my Draytek router, no problems whatsoever at full speeds. But I can't do this as the Draytek has to stay outside the office to give full wireless coverage - hence why I picked up the switch for the office & used power line adaptors to pipe the 'net down to the office.

No combination of adaptor settings or drivers have made me hold a stable connection so far, and you can't update the firmware on the switches.

Once again the solution is to throw Netgear stuff in the bin it seems!
