I'm using the Dell S2716DG 27"

I sit down to do some gaming today and suddenly the game screen keeps going black for a few seconds, then comes back on, then black for a few seconds, repeatly.

I've also used a program that tests g-sync and with it on it does the same actions, black screens. If I deactivate g-sync then the black screen doesnt appear.

This as literally just started happening today.

Does anyone have an idea of which direction I should head in to fix this. Is it a monitor issue, displayport issue, or graphics card issue?

I think ive fixed it.. i think it was the geforce experience that was messing with me. When it needs updating it makes the screens go black for some reason.

I updated geforce and also the graphic driver to the latest one and no black screens so far (touches wood). Just thought i'd post this quick follow-up.

Exactly the same thing happen to me the other day, first thought was - damn the g-sync is dead. But I did a driver cleaner with DDU and voila, same as new again :)
Happy to hear it worked out for you to!

I had this issue with a ROG Swift monitor .... turned out it was a dodgy cable. A replacement cable fixed the screen blackouts.
