Good evening gents,

Sorry this is another sob story but I could really do with some second opinions. I really can't afford to replace my graphics card as I've just had my first baby!

I’ve had this rig for 2 years until about 3 months ago, I have been having problems. Firstly, I was having boot problems but replaced the power supply and now I’ve been having loads of artefacts on screen problems and crashes.

I’ve attached some pics and some videos of consistant problems.

Most times the monitor just goes off and then the screen goes “Digital/Analogue” on screen which it would do if the monitor was on but PC not powered.

Often, the system will just straight crash but sometimes it looks like it will crash and then go “The device driver has failed but has now recovered”.

It used to be OK on windows but when I tried to run CS it would artefact and crash. Maybe when the gfx kicks in ?

The fan is on full manual, so its not an overheat issue. I have a 4780x2 2gb.
I guess I am thinking, is it the gfx faulty ? Anybody else have any ideas?

The boot problems don't appear to exist anymore! but yes, the gfx issues and crash issues are both here with both PSU's.

I went from 600w power supply to 700w gaming power supply.

You're right I definately could do with borrowing somebodies gfx, but I don't have any mates who have GFX's.

My system is pretty high spec don't just don't remember what. Plenty of cooling in the case. Would the specs of the whole system be helpful?

The GFX hasn't been overclocked hardly at all in 2 years. I've tried changing slots, cleaning it... Should I try a stress test?

I have reformatted twice, and tried new HD's. I've tried a few different drivers, the most recent ones seem to be the most stable.

the fan is only on 100% for the past week or so as I tried to rule out overheating :(

The video I posted, the youtube one makes it look like a gfx issue? thanks for the advice so far esp shadz! (bar the cooking my gfx card, ha ha ha!)
