I purchased a 7970 on the day it came out 09/01/2012 and up until yesterday its been working fine.

Yesterday i was playing metro 2033, and all of sudden my monitor switched to black screen and started saying power saving, i tried switching wires and tried another monitor but it still came up with the same error.

I switched off the pc for a bit and when i tried it again a couple hours later, it was working fine for about 20 minutes then it came up with the power saving message again.

Now im 90% sure its the GPU but i don't know how to go about getting it repaired/replacement.

I can't find the receipts that came with the GPU, and on the Gigabyte website it says contact where the order was placed?

What sort of proof would i need as i can't find the receipts, and the order was done over the phone so i do not have a confirmation email.

only thing i can think i can do is print a bank statement from that month or something?

Have any of you gone through the warranty process with Gigabyte before?

Thanks for any help in advance.

gigabyte should accept rma,if you can provide bank statement of purchase ect

how did you contact gigabyte? through website or phone? ive just dealt with them directly without going through place of purchase

It's ok OCUk will have records of when you bought your address etc.

Also these models are less than a year old so you wouldn't need proof and also they will have the serial.
