I have a suspicion my graphics card may be faulty, It was only bought a month ago or just over but I'm BSODing a lot on Windows7 and I had to install the drivers in Safe Mode. I'm back on XP which holds up a lot better even though explorer crashes from time to time.

Bottom line I need someway of figuring out if my Graphics card is to blame. Is it recommended I reinstall windows7 and post BSOD crash reports?

Any software I can run to test computer parts? Anything I can do?

If it is faulty and on it's way out i'd like it sent back within the year warranty its under.

Could you post your specs?

To me if the graphics card is faulty then it should work equally badly in xp and W7.

Theres wPrime or linpack for the CPU and memory. Furmark will test the video card. memtest for memory and I windows should have a HDD error check.

ok so a follow up, I've done a benchmark with furmark,

This is someones benchmark who has what appears to be a similar card to me, slightly faster GPU, memory and shader and same Processor.

For those that can't be bothered with the link ill paste his results,

" * Score: 4257 points

* App Version: Geeks3D_FurMark_v1.8.2_Build_Apr 16 2010_at_10:36:37

* Main graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460
* Number of Active GPUs: 1
* GPU Clock: 700 MHz
* Memory Clock: 1800 MHz
* Shader Clock: 1400 MHz
* Graphics Drivers: 8.17.12.5919 7-29-2010 - nvoglv32
* GPU Temperatures (start/end):42°C / 73°C

* Bench Duration: 60 ms
* Resolution: 1280 x 1024
* MSAA samples: 32
* Window Mode: fullscreen

* CPU: AMD Phenomtm II X4 955 Processor
* CPU Speed: 3214 MHz
* Operating System: Windows 7 32-bit build 7600 No Service Pack"

And my results running the same resolution and same MSAA samples are as follows,

SCORE:1444 points (60000 ms)
Max GPU Temp: 55°C
Resolution: 1280x1024 (FS) - MSAA: 32X
FPS: min=20 max=35 avg=24
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460
Forceware 6.14.12.6099 (10-16-2010)
Core:675MHz - Mem:1800MHz - Shader:1350MHz
AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 955 Processor
3214 MHz
3326 MB
Windows XP 32-bit build 2600 [Service Pack 3]

So the thing that immediately sticks out are the scores, 4000+ for him and only 1444 for mine with the same processor and roughly the same card.

Any ideas?
