I ordered the Hazro HZ27WC from overclockers and it is occasionally displaying some weird behaviour. Suddenly the monitor goes blurred, like there are small, vertical streaks down the screen. I've taken a photo and it is not a poor photo - it actually looks like this!

It has happened four or five times so far (usually just after turning the monitor on, but once happened while working). Being a brand new monitor I'm not happy with this sort of behaviour. Usually it is resolved just by turning monitor off and then back on, but on one occasion this did not resolve it and it only got back to normal after I had unplugged it and been using another monitor for 10 minutes.

I asked overclockers about it who told me to contact Hazro support. Had to google their support e-mail (not impressed) and have still not received a reply.

Was very happy with this monitor, but this intermittent problem coupled with non-existant support is eroding my enthusiasm. Any ideas what the problem is? Is it dying and I should get it replaced, or is this something else to do with the dual link DVI-D? PS! I have a HD5770 GPU.

I'm sorry to hear others are having the same issue, but at least that makes it less likely my graphic card is the problem (ATI 5770).

It has been very good since I made my post and only displayed this behavior on a few rare occasions. Turning the monitor on/off makes no difference (it did the very first time, but never since), but switching from DVI to HDMI (TV) and back always resolves it. It has only happened during normal use on a couple of occasions, rarely on bootup and most often when switching back from the TV (HDMI) - but even that only happens quite rarely.

I wouldn't be so worried if I knew what the problem was and I could be certain that it is not a sign of a component failing, but this is a brand new monitor and I shouldn't need to worry about this sort of thing.

Ok, an update.

Since I got a new nvidia gtx 580 asus graphic card I have had zero issues with my HZ27WC. Now it has only been two weeks, but this is very encouraging and might mean that some graphic cards have issues with this monitor.

Also loving my new asus graphic card. Well worth taking up three slots when it is so wonderfully silent compared to my ATI 5770, even when playing games like the Witcher 2 at 2560x1440 with most settings at max.

I'll post again if the monitor glitches re-appear, but fingers crossed you wont hear from me in this thread again.

Since I installed a nvidia card (GTX 580) I have had zero problems with this monitor. I've also gotten used to the glass reflections (i.e. I don't notice anymore) and absolutely love it. I think it is a fantastic monitor for the price. Clearly there may be issues with some (older? - I had 5770) ATI cards, but even then my problems were at least only occasional and always resolved by changing the resolution or primary screen a few times. I don't know if new driver updates might resolve it.
