Faulty hdmi port can I use display port adaptor

Hi can’t get a signal from my hdmi port and it’s very loose so was wondering if I could use a display port to hdmi adapter with the card, sure it’s a Radeon 580 series so has two display ports?

i used an active hdmi to dp club3d one on my vega 64, worked a treat at 4k 60hz

You can you just need to consider what you want to output to to confirm how good of an adapter you need. (HDMI 1.4, 20 or 2.1)

Thanks just need something to check I haven’t damaged the gpu the hdmi connector bent, so just ordered one from the rainforest to test before I have to look at gpu’s

just to update and say thanks ordered a cheapy from the rainforest and all good back up working

I been trying to find one that supports VRR as want to use dp. Some reports some have it working but none officially support it. Best Can get is 4k@120hz

Some apparently support Freesync, but none support G-Sync

It should definitely 'work' mate but you might find that the featureset is altered as compared to HDMI (eg restricted refresh rates/the passing of audio etc)

I use a DP to HDMI cable for my 27" Acer and it's fine.
