Samsung R700 laptop when I connect to tv using hdmi cable get message no signal and laptop display cuts out it previously worked perfectly it took a knock on hdmi port which was slightly mishappen which I straghtened with small screw driver without removing the battery[I now know but what would you expect from a 70 year old] any suggestions what might be wrong and can it be fixed

If the port or the connections to the mother board are damaged it will probably need a new hdmi socket soldering in. The parts will be cheap but it might cost a bit on labour unless you know someone who is good at precision soldering.
It might be better to just use the vga port if its going to be expensive.
