I've got a 13 " unibody macbook - so very similar to the 13" macbook pro.

Basically the CMD key acts as though it stucks down. I can't type any text and pressing the A key selects everything in a window as though i've pressed CMD + A and any other key i press activates the relevant shortcut.

We did have an incident were some liquid was spilled on the macbook a few days ago. But whats confusing was that A) it was on a different part of the keyboard and B) its only just happened now. It was fine for days afterwards

Co-incidence do you think ?

if it is a co-incidence, how would you go about repairing it ? Home repair possible or is it an apple genius appointment ? Its out of warranty and i don't have applecare for it.

I'd try a can of compressed air, they're pretty inexpensive and more powerful than they look and could be enough to dislodge whatever may be stuck down there, assuming that's the problem. Even if whatever you spilled on the keyboard has left some kind of residue it still might be worth a try, although those Mac keyboards don't really leave a lot of gap in between the keys. At worst, you'll have a can of compressed air which is useful to have in its own right.

didnt know the unibody had keys that could be pulled off

i'll give it a try.

*edit*

Just done this now. Given it a blast with a can of compressed air and its fine.

*phew*

Thanks guys :D
