Faulty Mac Pro Power Supply?

My Mac Pro 2008 makes an almost constant clicking sound(can become more pronounced depending on what activity the computer is doing). I've checked the fans, graphics card, and hard drive and it doesn't seem to be coming from them which would seem to leave the power supply. Has anyone else come across "noisy" Mac Pro power supplies? Does my assumption seem correct?

Is the power supply's fan enclosed in the power supply unit? Beyond listening at the rear of the machine, no. The clicking is almost constant(sometimes disappears for a bit) but doesn't sound like a 600RPM fan in frequency terms(much slower - can also be almost instantly increased in loudness by doing something like scrolling files in a Finder window, or switching to a graphically intensive screen saver). Maybe I can locate a fan control program for the power supply and have a tinker.
