What happens when a MAP sensor is faulty? The problem i'm having at the moment with my car is when I'm decellerating (ie foot fully off the accelerator) it will get to about 1200RPM where it will kangaroo before stabilising and movivng under it's own power at about 1000rpm. This makes motorway queue driving a nightmare. It may also do it if i've got my foot lightly on the accelerator maintaining a certain speed (1300rpm in 1st for example) it will drive steady and then kangaroos for no reason... It will do it when it's hot or cold. The TB looks quite new and it's a fly by type. The car drives as it should every other time, during *** and above 2k RPM etc..

I'm thinking it could be:

MAP
CTS
Lambda - but isn't this ignored when cold?
TPS

What are the symptoms of a faulty MAP as i could swap this easily with my friends clio.

Ps - it's a ph2 172.

Thanks.

I did, but might get a broader range of answers here as the same pricipals should apply. They are more concerned about polishing their rocker covers anyway :p

I had a similar problem with my Rover 25, I think it turned out to be the Lambda sensor. I had similar problems like yours with the kangaroo action (which was the mis firing)

I suppose it could be the lambda, but it does it from cold too.

Not sure the throttle is sticking as if i'm holding at a constant low rpm speed in 1st gear it will be fine for like 2 secs then kangaroo, even if the accelerator is in the same position.
