So i've been having boot up issues with my X570E gaming MB and 5950x. I've moved everything over to a spare PC and it all works fine. So that just leaves the MB or CPU.
I've pretty much given up going any further so looking to upgrade my gaming rig and moving the gear from my current gaming rig to my work desktop.

So
Stick with AMD and go with 7950X or flip back to intel 13900k
I mostly play DCS which is CPU heavy.
Currently running 128Gb Ram. So wondering if 64gb of slower or 32gb of faster

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £2,209.38 (includes delivery: £10.50)

I don't know anything about this game, but some of the threads say it only uses one core primarily? Wouldn't that make this very nearly as fast for a fraction of the cost? Albeit, it wouldn't be an 'upgrade' in terms of raw computing power.

Intel Core i5-13600K (Raptor Lake) Socket LGA1700 Processor - Retail SKU CP-6AV-IN - £349.99
Kingston FURY Beast 64GB (2x32GB) DDR5 PC5-44800C40 5600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KF556C40BBK2-64) SKU MY-29W-KS - £389.99
Asus Prime Z790-P WIFI (LGA 1700) DDR5 ATX Motherboard SKU MB-6JR-AS - £269.99

GRAND TOTAL £1,020.47

I'm going to go with AMD. Having a few extra years of upgrades on AM5 has swung it.
I've a couple of rigs.. Gaming and work. So if I really need too I can upgrade desktop to old gaming and upgrade gaming.

Flight Simulator(which you also mentioned elsewhere) was one of the games which showed massive gains using the Ryzen 7 5800X3D over the other Zen3 CPUs. I would definitely wait for the Zen4 X3D parts,or buy a Ryzen 7 5800X3D as I have seen a few offers for it for under £400. The Ryzen 7 5800X3D seems to get relatively close to the Zen4 parts - the most I have seen is the Zen4 CPUs being 10% to 15% faster, but in other reviews the Ryzen 7 5800X3D can be slightly ahead.

TBH,if you are looking just at performance the Core i5 13600KF makes the most sense. All the reviews of Flight Simulator have the Core i5 13600K/Core i7 13700K trading blows with the AMD Zen4 parts. You also mentioned you use Photoshop:

The Core i5 13600K holds its own against even the Ryzen 9 SKUs in Adobe software.

Also WRT to the AM5 build, the parts you are suggesting are just massively overpriced. A sub £300 motherboard is fine, especially with running a Ryzen 7 7950X in Eco mode will virtually get you the same performance in gaming and most likely similar performance in image editing applications suchas Photoshop(which you mention elsewhere).

The DDR5 RAM is overpriced especially as 32GB 6000MHZ kits have dipped well under £200 in the last few weeks. 64GB 5200MHZ kits can be had for under £250. Check HUKD for when the deals turn up.

Change the MB battery = fixed.
Dont even joke about that... It's the only thing I didn't check!!!!. Pulled it out a few times and it defo reset everything so I assumed it was ok.
Shiny new stuff works though.
And my "faulty" Desktop is back up and running using my old gaming bits.

I'd have to laugh if it was just the damn Battery
