faulty megadrive?

i bought a megadrive 2 off a bootsale today for £2 with 4 pads and all leads but no game.I tryed switching it on to test if it powered up but there is no light to say its powered on.Can anyone tell me do megadrives only power on with a cartridge in them?

i am not to fussed if its dead as it was only a couple of quid but would be a nice bargain if it worked

The light should come on even without a cartridge in there.

The PSU is most likely to fail, not the actual console.

If you have a wireless Logitech Mouse, see if it has the same power connector. Or try and find a similar adapter.

Harib0 is selling some games and consoles in members market at the moment.

i have tryed using a multi adaptor psu but no luck with that either.i think its prob dead

its worth checking the inside on the area where the power conencts, it often dislodges so it doesnt work
