Faulty memory - Question about GeIL RMA procedure

I've been having issues with my PC for a while now and think I have finally tracked this down to an issue with my RAM (going to run further tests after posting this thread).

Does anyone here have experience of GeIL's RMA procedure? It looks like the only option is to send the faulty RAM off to Taiwan and I'd like an estimate of how long it would likely be that I have no RAM.

If it is going to be long then I'll have to buy more RAM to use while it is gone :(.

Edit: I've had this RAM 2 years now and only recently started having issues.

I would run memtest and leave it for a good while and see if it finds any errors.

I have never used their ram or rma process so I cannot comment on it but the above will tell you if you have faulty ram or not

how long is the warranty on the ram?

If you look here on OCUK's support page it appears that Geil has support for the end user but not RMA's for the end user which suggests that you need to go through the place you got it from.

Would that mean dealing with OCUK for the RMA? I think I may have misunderstood the RMA page here if that is the case, guess I should read it again (and more thoroughly).

Edit: After reading through the RMA page properly I can see that you were right and I would need to contact OCUK for the RMA here. Thanks :)

Hate it when that happens. Ram is the culprit far too often. Hope you get your replacements quick mate.

Thanks :)

Annoyingly both passed the full set of tests individually then passed again after putting them back in together.

I've upped the voltage from 1.5 to 1.6 to see if that makes any difference and will run memtest again after my next system freeze (probably tomorrow after work).
